a teleological extension is an orientation towards an impression. for instance, the omega point is roughly speaking the teleological extension of thought. such a cynosure lives strictly outside the space of possible worlds. much like how following a star will send you along the earth's surface but not any closer to the star, the direction in which a teleological extension sends you (in finite time) is perpendicular to the notional direction it "actually" lies in, which points out of the space of possible worlds. one meaning of the word 'god' is the teleological extension of glory.
